How to fix 'Frostwire was unable to load' error in Windows?

Follow

First, run FrostWire in Safe Mode, so you can see what the actual issue is.

If you get this error:

=======

Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx2048 - Xms2048m
Unrecognized option: -
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Press any key to continue . . .

=======

you can easily fix the issue in the following steps:

Step 1.- Check the environmental variables on Windows 8 following these steps:

Start icon --> All Apps --> Control Panel --> System --> Advanced System Settings --> Advanced --> Environmental Variables

Step 2. Check if there is a value in a variable called %JAVA_OPTIONS% then copy that value in a safe place (just in case you have to revert the changes you will make) and delete this variable

Step 3. Try to run FrostWire in a Safe Mode again - it should work fine now!

If FrostWire is still not running then open the environmental variables again and copy and paste the previously saved variable with the same value (to restore your system as it was before the test) and submit a support ticket with as much information as you can - we will be happy to help to figure it out.
